World Animal Day
Today is World Animal Day, a day to raise awareness of animal welfare and the importance of improving the lives of animals around the world.
In addition to protecting species in the wild, wildlife conservation also involves the animals that come into rescue centres as a result of human-wildlife conflict, illegal wildlife trade, habitat loss, and other threats.
At the 2026 WARN Asia Conference, “Merging Animal Rescue and Ecotourism for Wildlife Conservation,” we will look at how animal rescue can contribute to broader conservation efforts, and how responsible tourism can help support wildlife protection.
