First Wave of Speakers Announced for WARN 2023 Conference!

The countdown is now on with less than two months to go until this year’s Wild Animal Rescue Network (WARN) conference, set to take place 13-15 June 2023, at the Avani+ Hotel in Hua Hin, Thailand.

Now in its 15th year, there have been many incredible WARN meetings in the past and we’re really looking forward to all getting together again (in person!), especially after the difficult past few years.

The theme of this year’s conference is “After Covid19, Back In Action”, and the event will be hosted by Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT), one of Asia’s largest wildlife rescue centres.

Topics and discussions will range from striking veterinary case studies to undercover wildlife trade investigations.

Among the first wave of speakers are:

  • Dr. Wong Siew Te, the founder of Malaysia-based Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC), who will talk about the successful rehabilitation of rescue sun bears.
  • Hardi Baktiantoro, founder of the Centre of Orangutan Protection (COP), who will address the present dangers facing the orangutans.
  • Ms. Heidi Quine, of Animals Asia Foundation, who will talk about how caring for animals means caring for staff.

More speakers and sessions will be announced in the coming weeks – in the meantime,  book your place at the WARN conference now!
