Day 2 Highlights from the 2025 WARN Asia Conference

Yesterday, Day 2 of the 2025 WARN Asia Conference in Hua Hin, Thailand, brought another full day of collaboration, learning, and inspiring presentations from across the region.

Speakers and representatives from Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, and India shared powerful stories of their work to protect wildlife and strengthen conservation efforts on the ground.

The day featured presentations from Geopix, Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand, Animals Asia, Centre for Orangutan Protection, Melon Rouge Agency, Thailand DNP Wildlife Crime Intelligence Center, Orangutan Haven / Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme, World Parrot Trust, Justice for Wildlife Malaysia, and RESQ Charitable Trust.

Topics explored the complex realities of wildlife protection and rehabilitation, including the protection of Sumatran elephants, life-long care for non-releasable animals, lion ownership in Thailand, and strategies for reducing bushmeat consumption. One session examined the intersections of wildlife conservation, the criminal justice system, and wildlife crime convergence in Malaysia, offering vital insights into how cross-sector collaboration can drive stronger outcomes for wildlife protection.

The day concluded with a hands-on workshop led by Species360, where participants delved into data-driven approaches to improve animal care and conservation management.

With just one day left of the conference, the momentum continues to build as participants exchange ideas, strengthen networks, and work together toward a united future for Asia’s wildlife.

Stay tuned for the final day’s updates!
