Day 3 Highlights from the 2025 WARN Asia Conference
Yesterday marked the final day of the 2025 WARN Asia Conference in Hua Hin, wrapping up three days of inspiring discussions and collaboration for wildlife conservation across Asia.
Speakers from the Philippines, Taiwan, South Korea, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Australia, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, and Thailand shared their experiences and expertise. The morning featured presentations from ABConservation, Pingtung Rescue Center, National Institute of Ecology, The Aspinall Foundation Indonesia Program, Creative Conservation Alliance, Indo-Myanmar Conservation Asian Turtle Program, and the Southern Thailand Elephant Foundation, followed by a discussion on illegal wildlife trade.
In the afternoon, Wildlife Asia & Perth Zoo, the Sabah Wildlife Department, Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, PAWS, and the Asia for Animals Coalition presented a range of case studies and initiatives. Topics included macaque and pangolin conservation, the aftermath of wildlife seizures, malaria and orangutan health, and emergency preparedness in wildlife institutions.
The conference concluded with closing remarks from WARN President Edwin Wiek and a farewell gathering at the I-Love-Phants Lodge, celebrating new partnerships and continued collaboration for Asia’s wildlife.
