The illegal trade in wildlife remains one of the most pressing threats to biodiversity, animal welfare, and public health. The next frontier in conservation is collaborative wildlife management. It is guided by compassion, informed by science, and driven by strategy to benefit both nature and people.

Wildlife management often focuses on elephants, bears, and big cats. But what about the lesser-seen species that still face big challenges?

We are looking for speakers, presenters, and panelists to share practical experiences at this year's WARN Asia Conference, taking place 10-12 November in Hua Hin, Thailand.

As one of the region's most respected wildlife rescue and rehabilitation organisations, WFFT has spent over two decades rescuing animals from the illegal wildlife trade, supporting enforcement operations, and providing lifelong sanctuary for animals that can't return to the wild.

At this year's conference, collaboration is more important than ever. We will be exploring how to move beyond isolated interventions and toward more coordinated, regional approaches to wildlife protection and management.

From addressing human-elephant issues and urban macaque conflicts to combating illegal wildlife trade and ensuring rescued animals get long-term care - conservation challenges are broad and varied.

It is World Orangutan Day 2025. As we celebrate one of our closest relatives in the animal kingdom, it's a crucial reminder that orangutans are under growing threat - not just from habitat loss, but from increasing human-wildlife conflict.

Last month, as part of our ongoing efforts to foster regional collaboration, veterinarians from Free The Bears, Lao Conservation Trust for Wildlife and Centre for Orangutan Protection, joined Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT) for a hands-on training experience.

WARN Asia is thrilled to have been a part of the Tiger Welfare Workshop 2025, alongside Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT), For Tigers, and the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP).

From March 10-12, WARN Asia hosted the 2025 Illegal Wildlife Trade workshop, bringing together experts from across Asia to share knowledge and address wildlife trafficking. The workshop was a resounding success, fostering new connections, valuable insights, and innovative tools in the fight against the illegal wildlife trade.

The WARN 2024 conference has officially started! This year's conference is hosted by Free the Bears and held in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR. The theme is "Successful partnerships leading to positive outcomes for wildlife".
